Frequently asked questions

How and when do I get paid for work?

That depends on the type of role you get through Hirestaff. If you secure a permanent position with one of our clients, you will get paid directly from them. If you take a temporary or contract role through Hirestaff it’s slightly different. As part of registering with Hirestaff, you will need to provide us with your bank account details, all securely held in our database. Once you're placed into an office role, you will need to submit your hours through our online timesheet system. Once your hours are approved, you will be paid automatically on a Wednesday evening.

Do you have both short-term and long-term jobs?

We have short term and long term office roles available at Hirestaff. We can find you a job that suits your personal situation and career goals.

Do I need a CV to get an office role with Hirestaff?

Yes – most of our jobs require you to submit your CV as part of your application. It will help us find you work more quickly and showcase your professional experience. If you need help creating a CV, talk to one of our team.

What kind of companies do you work with?

Officestaff works with some of New Zealand's leading businesses in a variety of different sectors. We only work with companies who have good workplace practices and professional environments to ensure you have a positive work experience.

Is your service free for professionals?

Yes – if you’re a candidate or professional looking for a new job opportunity, Hirestaff is completely free to use. 

Do you have entry-level jobs?

We have a variety of office roles at different experience levels including entry level positions. Have a chat to our team to see what office roles would suit your background.

What day will I be paid?

Pay day is every Wednesday evening. To get paid on time you will need to submit your timesheet and have it approved by Tuesday evening. Approved timesheets will be paid on Wednesday evening. If your timesheet is not approved on time, your pay may be delayed until the following week.

Can Hirestaff help with visa sponsorship?

Hirestaff are an accredited employer and can sponsor visas in certain professional fields. Please reach out to our team to find out more.

Can I work on a visitor visa?

Unfortunately you are unable to work on a visitor visa. To work in New Zealand you need to have a valid work visa. For more information visit https://www.immigration.govt.nz/

Do you focus on permanent placements?

Unlike other agencies, Hirestaff tries to find long term opportunities for candidates. Our aim is to place you into a role which has the opportunity to go permanent. Not all roles will turn into permanent placements, but we do our best to find companies that are looking for permanent staff.

Are full-time hours available?

Nearly all of our roles have the opportunity to have full time hours (40 hours a week). Each role is different so talk to our team about what opportunities we have and how many hours you could work each week.
