A locally based business on the Gold Coast is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their small team on a permanent full-time basis. This isn't a high-pressure corporate environment — it's a stable, down-to-earth workplace where you'll be trusted to manage the day-to-day financials and work with a reasonable degree of autonomy.
The business has been operating for a number of years and their books are in good shape. They need someone who can pick things up quickly, work accurately, and flag issues before they become problems.
What you'll be doing day to day:
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
- Payroll processing for a small team (weekly/fortnightly)
- Preparing and lodging BAS via the ATO portal
- Maintaining accurate records in Xero
- Assisting with end-of-month reporting
- Liaising with the external accountant at year-end
What we're looking for:
- Minimum 2–3 years of bookkeeping experience in a similar role
- Solid working knowledge of Xero (non-negotiable)
- Confident with BAS preparation and payroll
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage your own workload
- A Certificate IV in Bookkeeping/Accounting or equivalent experience
- Good communication skills — you'll deal with suppliers and internal staff regularly

- Salary between $60,000 – $70,000 + super, depending on experience
